Thankful Thursday: Sunrise

"Faith is knowing the sun will rise,
 lighting each new day."

-Faith (Words by Beatrice Goff Jackson and Music byMichael Finlinson Moody)

One of the things that I love most about spring is the timing of the sunrise. Once we get past those terrible days of winter and at the beginning of daylight savings time when we must get up and go to school and work in the dark, I love getting up just as the day is beginning and watching the sunrise. I love warm sunny spring mornings working in the garden. The sun is one constant that we can always rely on. Of course there are cloudy and stormy days, but we can always know that beyond the clouds the sun is still there, shining and sharing light, heat and energy with us all.

I love the sunrise.

  1. We've had a terrible spring where we live, rain, clouds, cold weather and little sun. . . just terrible. I would love to get a break in the weather to be able to enjoy the sunrise again. Hopefully we'll have some sunny days soon. (:

    1. I hope you get some sunny days soon. It's actually getting a bit too warm and dry around around here right now and I'm hoping for some cooler weather and some rain right now.

  2. Like Elise our spring had been rather weird.

I was so grateful to have a beautiful weather day for mothers day. We all gathered outside and enjoyed a day full of sun and grilled some burgers and dogs.

I hope you had a nice Mothers Day Marcy. I rarely am up for the sunrise but I know what you mean on the rare day that I am up :)

    1. I'm glad you had a beautiful mother's day, Jen. I was able to visit with my mother on Saturday, and then have dinner with the in-laws on Sunday. I was also able to talk to or Skype with all three of my kids that live out of state. It was a great weekend.
