If you are a somewhat regular visitor to this blog, you may have noticed that occasionally I may make mention of an organization or person that I feel has a worthy cause or way to help those of our human family who may be in need. It is just one small way that I feel I can exercise my ability to become more compassionate. Today I'd like to share a new situation that I have found with you. One of my blogger friends, Nichole Michelle who blogs at World of My Imagination, recently initiated a Crowdfunding Campaign to help finance a new car for currently unemployed mother. Nicole Michelle is currently the only employed member of her family, which as you can imagine has made for a rather different holiday season this past Christmas. Not having a car makes life more difficult for most people in our world today, and it especially makes job hunting more difficult.

I let my step daughter use my car for a year +. It was a big change for me not to have a car and not being able to do as I pleased go where I want. Believe me Marcy it is something I never want to do again. I can't imagine being car-less and having the pressures of being a single mother too! What a nice thing your friend is doing..
ReplyDeleteI agree that being carless is not fun at all. I was without a car for about six months over a year ago, and though it was never a terrible hardship since we still had DH's car most of that time and other relatives and neighbors to help out with rides in a pinch. I'm just grateful that I live close enough to walk to work in just about the same amount of time it takes to scrape off my car windows and drive to work in the winter.
